Urgent Roof Repair Project
Rajakiramam (NHDA Scheme)
Karaveddy Development Foundation (KDF) has become concerned about the hardship faced by families in the Rajakiramam, where government-built housing has not received any maintenance for many years. Of the dwellings in the estate, there are several houses that are now in serious disrepair, but around twenty homes are in urgent need of intervention as their roofs are almost non-existent.
Without repair, these families will be left without safe shelter once the rainy season begins in earnest. The KDF(UK) is committed to fund this repair programme so that KDF working closely with the Grama Sevagar (GS) can administer the delivery of the repair works.
Their estimate to complete the works of the entire 20 dwellings is £15,000. They will manage the delivery programme with technical oversight from a technical officer, who will also approve completion of works and authorise payments.
